Meet the IOA Support Staff

These are the people who assist and support the faculty of IOA.

  Ronda Eshleman, Executive Director, brings over twenty years experience as both a business teacher and administrator at Carmel High School, a nationally ranked, top performing school. During her leadership, Carmel High School was named a National Blue Ribbon School, one of Forbes magazine's top 10 schools, and one of Newsweek's top achieving schools. She is currently the Co-President of the Indiana Curriculum and Instruction Association, an association of over 450 curriculum specialists from all over the state of Indiana. She frequently presents at local, state and national conferences, such as National Association of Secondary School Principals and the National Learning Forward conference. Previous to working at Carmel High School, Ronda was a Marketing Executive with Xerox Corporation.

  Mary Brabson provides student and parent support.   She joined Central Indiana Educational Service Center in February of 1998, serving in different capacities in Professional Development and Technology. Mary brought to CIESC prior experiences in the corporate arena with retail merchandising, marketing and training in retail management. Her education incorporates business management, computer science, accounting and tax laws.

  Kim Hendrick, Director of Online Curriculum & Technology, is a dynamic educator & professional development provider with 25 years of experience. Kim's expertise in online learning and professional development has helped educators transform their practice. She serves on the Indiana Connected Educators (ICE) Board and on the IDOE eLearning Leadership Cadre with other leaders around the state. She also serves on the Virtual School Leadership Alliance (VSLA) Marketing, Curriculum & Professional Development committees. Connect with her on Twitter @evolvewithkim.   Dan Worley, e-Learning Manager, has served Indiana schools and government agencies as Computer Teacher, Systems Analyst and Technology Integration Specialist. For 8 years, Dan worked for Plainfield Community School Corporation where he helped teachers integrate technology into the classroom, administered LMS systems, developed content driven websites and supervised District Technology Coaches. He frequently presents at local educational technology conferences including ICE and HECC. Dan attended the University of Indianapolis and graduated with honors in 1997.

  Phyllis Canady, Administrative Assistant, came to CIESC in September of 2008. Before joining IOA, she served as Program Coordinator for the SES Tutoring Program, and possesses a wide range of skills. Before coming to CIESC, she worked as an emergency room registration clerk, and financial counselor in the medical field. She enjoys interior decorating, camping and horseback riding. She is an avid reader and loves to sing. She currently resides in Wayne Township with her husband, two daughters, son in law and twin grandsons.

  Laura Garmire, eLearning Training Specialist, is an innovative educator & trainer with over twenty years of professional experience in education and staff development. She has trained hundreds of teachers and administrators through webinars and face to face instruction Some of those trainings were on 1:1, Chromebooks, iPad, SAMR, Google, and technology integration. Laura was one of the founding PBS LearningMedia Teacher Core Members. She helped choose the new PBS Learning Media Digital Innovators from applicants across the United States. Laura is also a Google Educator and is currently transitioning CIESC to a Google Apps for Education (GAFE) service center. Laura started her career in Maryland in 1990 but has spent the last twenty years teaching in Indianapolis where she lives with her husband and four "four-legged" children.

  Christine Derda, Account Manager Christine Derda comes from New Albany High School in southern Indiana, where she was the Extra Curricula Activities Treasurer. Christine brings experience from both the business and public education world. She has a background in management, payroll, event planning, and bookkeeping. Christine attended Purdue University, where she graduated in 2008 with a degree in Organizational Leadership.
